Ink Body and Soul · In line with South Africa's POPIA

This policy explains how Ink Body and Soul (“we”, “us”), the tattoo practice of Calvin, collects and uses your personal information when you contact us through this website. We take your privacy seriously and process your information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

What we collect

When you use the booking enquiry form or contact us, we may collect:

Your name
Your phone number and/or WhatsApp number
Your email address (if you provide it)
Details of the tattoo you're enquiring about — description, placement, size and preferred date

We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising on this site.

Website statistics

We keep basic, anonymous statistics about how this website is used — so we know which pages are read and whether the booking buttons work. This is done on our own server. Nothing is sent to Google Analytics, Facebook, or any other outside company.

For each visit we record only:

The date and hour of the visit
Which page was viewed
Which website you arrived from, if any — the site's name only, never the full web address
Whether you were on a phone, tablet or computer
Whether a WhatsApp, call, email or booking button was clicked

We do not store your IP address. To avoid double-counting the same person twice in one day, your IP address is briefly combined with a secret value that changes every day, converted into a scrambled code, and then discarded. The code cannot be turned back into your IP address, and the code for the same visitor is different tomorrow. This means the statistics cannot identify you or follow you over time.

No cookie is placed on your device for this, so there is nothing to consent to. If your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control” signal, we record nothing at all. Statistics are deleted after 13 months.

To respond to your enquiry and discuss your tattoo
To arrange, quote for and schedule your appointment
To contact you about your booking

We only use your information for the reason you gave it to us. We do not sell or share it for marketing.

How it's shared

Enquiries submitted through the form are delivered to us by email via a secure form service, and messages you send open in WhatsApp on your own device. We don't pass your details to any other third party except where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and appointment information only as long as needed to serve you and to meet any legal or record-keeping obligations, after which it is deleted.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or object to how we use it. To do so, contact us using the details below.
